Brian is currently an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University. Prior to joining the faculty at Penn State, he was a Post Doctoral Fellow in the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech. His work with the Graham Lab under the direction of Professor Samuel Graham is focused on developing new photo and electrothermal techniques to expand the current capabilities of the lab. Brian received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia in 2016. His work with Professor Patrick Hopkins in the ExSiTE Lab focused on the use of thermoreflectance-based metrology techniques to investigate phonon transport in a variety of material systems. Prior to his PhD, he worked for two and a half years at Virginia Diodes, Inc. making vector network analyzer (VNA) extension modules for calibrated S-parameter measurements from 75-1100GHz of various electrical devices and materials. Brian also has a background in electrical engineering having received M.S. and B.E. degrees from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 2009 and 2007, respectively.
